05.08.07 Just a reminder, the Clouds have two release parties coming up - Toledo on the 12th (this Sat.) and the gargantuan blowout in Chicago on the 19th. We also have following shows in New York and Boston. This is a warning, however - if you know that you are coming to the Chicago CD Release, BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW. Due to some sanctions by the city, Martyrs capacity is severely limited, so we'd like to make sure all of our closest friends and fans buy their tickets first just to be safe. Follow the link below, or go to www.martyrslive.com.
TICKETS AVAILABLE THROUGH: Tour updates! Chicago show added! Hey - couple quick things, please note the changes on the Canadian dates. If you were going to drop what you were doing and travel to the land of fauns and maple leaves, you will want to note the changes. Maple leaves are a nation-wide symol of pride, as there are a shitload of maple trees in Canada. Fauns are whimsical (and often loose-moraled) creatures who have the upper body of humans, like you and I, and the lower body of goats. Guelph, Ontario, the first date on the tour, has the highest concentration of fauns in either North America or Europe -- over 11,000 at last census. Also, before JT leaves for Europe, the Clouds are gonna do one last show at Schubas before the cd release -- wed, Feb 21 with Po' Girl. Then it's off to the UK for March. 5 dates in Spain have just been added - check this page in the next few days for the official listing. Also waiting for the official word on a Paris show at the end of April. Anyway, stay tuned. As it stands, the Clouds will be happily re-united at the end of April , and it's looking like a Chicago cd release on May 19th at Martyrs'. T-Town folks can see us at Mickey Finn's on May 12th. We, of course, will keep you in the know about that. Don't be afraid to hit us up with questions, though.... That's it for the minute - make sure you come out to the Schubas show on the 21st - if you get a chance, pull JT aside and give him 40 or 50 bucks -- the dollar is suffering, and he has too much personal pride to not buy tons of drinks for lots of people in every new township. see you soon -- love, the clouds 01.02.07JT ransacks N America, fondles Europe! Feliz Nuevo Rancheros! JT will be boning up on intercontinental phraseology in the next few months, as he prepares to coddle, inflame and woo Canada, the Eastern half o' the USA, the UK and Greater Europa, opening for Po' Girl, as they tour in support of their latest release. Many of the Canadian and US dates will be performed with all Clouds on deck, while several others will feature smaller cloud combos, and, at times --- just JT --- shockingly alone. These solo performances are sure to feature an intoxicating mix of vulnerability and insecure machismo. It is always an odd experience to be titilated and repulsed simultaneously, so we are sure reactions to these JT acoustic shows will vary wildly, especially in Olde England. Check the calender here on our myspace page or at www.jtandtheclouds.com for tour updates; the UK dates are set now, but there will be additions in Spain and Italy for the first two weeks of April. As it looks now, the USA release of the new Clouds record, "the city's hot yeah the city's hot", will be in mid May, immediately following the European run. Stay up with us for details on that, we promise to stay up with you. Speaking of Po' Girl, their new record, Highway Home, soon to be released on Nettwerk America, features a cover of the old Clouds chestnut, "Til it's Gone." Check for it. More Soon -- may the love we feel for you pour down upon your person like warm ovaltine, soaking your head, torso, arms, hands and upper parts of your legs -- cheers -- the clouds 11.13.06Yes - the CD is finished. We hope to have our release in Feb. or March - thank you for your patience. Our website is under construction, as is our myspace page - all of that will be finished soon. We have CD promo tours planned all around the States and parts of Canada for '07, so please check back here for gig listings. ANY questions about CD release, or info about the band contact info@jtandtheclouds.com. thanks - the clouds 01.23.06 The Clouds will roll into Austin, TX on Feb. 10 for this years' Folk Alliance. If you're down that way, look for the band in showcases hosted by Houston Jones, AJ Roach and Rhonda Barton. Back in Chicago, the Clouds headline at the Metro on Feb. 18. Work on the next CD continues, and a three song demo should be wrapped up just in time for Austin. 09.27.05 Work on the new CD is progressing. The band has completed some initial rhythm track sessions in Chicago. Expect a more live-in-the-studio feel this time around. During the recording, please continue to check the gig page for sporadic live dates, mostly in Chicago and Toledo. To spice things up, the Clouds have taken to occasionally flexing their muscles as an acoustic quartet or trio, so stop out for new versions of your old favorites. 07.18.05 Since the last posting, the Clouds have toured parts of Montana, British Columbia, California and Nevada. A special highlight was the Sunday morning set at the High Sierra Festival. Keep posted for a possible live recording from that date! It will be linked to our music page when available. The t-shirts have been gobbled up, but a reorder is on the way. The Clouds will be keeping a semi-low profile for the rest of the summer, but Chicago fans can turn out later this month for the Uncommon Ground stage at the Southport Festival, thanks to Michael Cameron. U.G. is sponsoring a stage both days, and the Clouds play Sunday 7/24 @ 7:00pm. 05.24.05 We've christened June as Nettwerk Records month, whether they know it or not. Part of the band is heading to Vancouver to go into the studio with Nettwerk artists The Be Good Tanyas. The rest of the boys will join them for a gig in Vancouver on June 9 when the Clouds open for The Clumsy Lovers and Po' Girl (both Nettwerk acts)at The Media Club. On June 11 the Clouds open for the Tanyas at the Alix Goolden Hall in nearby Victoria. Back in Ohio, the Clouds share the stage with the Clumsy Lovers again at Mickey Finn's Pub on June 17. The Lovers are supporting their new CD, "The Smart Kid," which is red-hot on the "new add" radio charts, so this is great timing. After that, it's off to California. Check the gig page for details. 04.14.05 The Toledo Folk Festival rocked again. Thanks to everyone who helped out, especially support acts Rachel Ries, Gregg Aranda and Whit Hill. In late May the Clouds visit Montana for the first time, for a weekend of gigs, new friends and hot tubs. Maybe new friends in the hot tubs. June promises to be a huge month. 6/3 is our first appearance at The Beat Kitchen - an established roots rock club, and a new Chicago venue for the band. 6/17 is a special co-bill in Toledo with Nettwerk Records recording artists, the Clumsy Lovers, all the way from Vancouver, BC. The Clouds then take off for a mini-tour through California, starting with a 6/26 live in-studio appearance on KPIG. We're lining up more CA dates as we type, working towards two sets at the High Sierra Music Festival on 7/3. 02.24.05 The Clouds are going to the woodshed to rehearse and record disc no. 2. Gigs will restart with a vengeance on April 1 when the Clouds play at the Outlaw Family Band CD release party. The next night is the return of the Toledo Folk Festival at Mickey Finn's Pub on April 2. The initial line up includes Chicago singer/songwriter Rachel Ries, Ann Arbor's Whit Hill & the Postcards, and Toledo's favorite outlaws, Gregg Aranda & the Black Swamp Ramblers. Late May looks like a trip to Montana for some mountains, big sky and new friends. Check the gig page for updates. 01.01.05 Happy New Year. Check our gig page for an upcoming show at Martyr's on Jan. 29, a tentative in-studio on WXRT, the annual Toledo Folk Festival, and more. 11.28.04 OK people, it's bad news/good news time. The bad news is that the Wailing Jennys were forced to cancel all of their dates for the rest of the year. The good news is that we are working with the club owners and promoters to keep the gigs. Details about the support acts and cover charges are developing as we speak, so please check the gig page for updates. And remember, if you're not sure what to purchase for the office gift exchange, a copy of "Delilah" can be ordered from the comfort of your own computer and delivered right to your door. It's under $20, one size fits all, and guaranteed to swing any work party into high gear. 10.27.04 Plans are taking shape for November dates with Nettwerk Records recording artist, Po' Girl, featuring Trish Klein from The Be Good Tanyas. Because we're working with Po' Girl's team to assemble this, we're short on some of the details, but we will put it on the gigs page as things firm up. However, we can tell you that plans include Sunday November 7 at Gunther Murphy's in Chicago, and Friday November 12 at the Living Room in NYC with our pals Chris Brown and Kate Fenner. In December, the Clouds will swing through the Midwest with Red House Records act, The Wailing Jennys, who just happen to be number one on some of the current folk radio charts. Our thanks to Catharine Anne at Paquin Entertainment in Toronto for lining this up. In between all of this is, at least where we come from, the craziest bar night of the year - Wednesday November 24. The Clouds will be at their own personal ground-zero, Mickey Finn's Pub in Toledo. Hope to see you around. 09.10.04 The Clouds are gearing up for their appearance in Cincinnati at the Mid Point Music Festival, an indie band conference and extravaganza. Look for us Thursday 9/23 at 9:00pm in the courtyard at Neon's. In addition to Rama Lama Records, we just added a second Toledo retail outlet, Culture Clash, in the Westgate Arcade. Tentative plans have the Clouds on the road in November with Po'Girl, and in December with the Wailing Jennys, so stay tuned. 07.02.04 As of this posting, the Clouds are in the midst of a California tour. This will be capped by a performance on the KPIG live Sunday morning show, July 11th at 10:00 AM Pacific (1:00 PM Eastern). Our thanks to host John Sandige. August will bring a string of dates with our pals, Luther Wright & the Wrongs, and triple bill at The Ark in Ann Arbor with Midwest favorites Delta 88 and Jo Serrapere. In addition to CD Baby, "Delilah" is now available on-line at Miles of Music, a really cool roots-oriented site. Our Toledo fans can also stop by Rama Lama Records in Cricket West. 03.01.04 The Clouds are just back from a triumphant string of showcases at the national Folk Alliance conference in San Diego. We had a blast hanging out and playing along side The Waybacks, Luther Wright, Po' Girl and many more. Thanks to Oasis CD and Uncommon Ground, the Little Red Hens collective, and to Forrest Sun for booking us into their respective showcases. |
